Staff Ecologist II & Botanist

Ms. Yoder has a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration on evolution, ecology, organismal biology, and the Salish Sea bioregion from Western Washington University. Ms. Yoder has over 7 years of experience in field botany, and 4 years of experience conducting biological critical area assessments, mitigation design, identifying and delineating wetlands, and writing technical reports. Her prior experience includes managing an environmental consulting company and working as a field botanist in locations throughout western Washington and Oregon. Ms. Yoder is an active member of the Washington Native Plant Society, a leader of plant identification field trips. She is supportive of conservation efforts to protect keystone species such as grey wolves and orcas, and native plant habitats. Her hobbies include hiking, camping, foraging, and educating audiences about plant ecology and more through in-person field trips or her YouTube channel, Northwest Natura.
